How are parents involved?
Parents are encouraged to maintain close connections with the school. The school is run by a Board of Directors made up primarily of parents who along with the Director oversee the continued development of a positive, productive preschool atmosphere for the children. Parents are given many opportunities throughout the year to volunteer at school run activities.
What does the two-year old program consist of?
The development of social skills is the main focus of the program. Learning to play, listening to and respecting classmates and teachers is emphasized. The children are introduced to shapes, colors and letters through themes and projects which are designed to help develop fine and gross motor skills. Outdoor play is part of each day.
What does the three-year old program consist of?
Child must be 3 by December 31. The development of social skills is an integral part of the program. Emphasis is on learning to play cooperatively by developing listening and sharing skills and respecting classmates and teachers. The children are introduced to numbers, shapes, colors, letters and sequencing skills. These skills will be developed by using fine and gross motor activities. All classes participate in our specials program which includes creative movement, music and science classes. Outdoor play is a part of each day.
What does the four-year old Pre-K program consist of?
Child must be 4 by December 31st. Fostering an enjoyment of learning while encouraging kindergarten readiness is the primary focus. Our integrated core curriculum consists of pre- reading, pre-math, fine and gross motor skills including Handwriting without Tears, social studies, science and language arts. Classes participate in our specials program of music, creative movement, foreign language, and science classes. Outdoor play is part of each day.
